YEAR 10 KEY INFORMATION: WEEK 10

Mentor Applications

Year 11 Mentor applications close this Thursday, and we are excited to read the submissions from our students. Year 11 Mentors play an important leadership role at St Mary’s, serving as a bridge between the Junior and Senior Schools. Through guidance, encouragement and positive role modelling, they help Year 7 students navigate their transition to high school and support them throughout their first year, fostering a strong sense of belonging and connection.

We are fortunate to have such an outstanding cohort of young people who consistently strive for excellence, demonstrate initiative and willingly support others. Their leadership qualities are already evident, and I look forward to seeing the positive impact and lasting legacy they will create within our College community.

Term 3 Reports

Term 3 reports will be released at the end of this term. I encourage all families to take the time to celebrate the progress and achievements reflected in these reports, while also discussing any areas for growth. Meaningful conversations about learning can help students recognise both their strengths and the value of perseverance when challenges arise.

Success is not always defined by immediate results, but by a student’s willingness to learn from setbacks, remain resilient and continue striving towards their goals. Developing these habits of persistence and determination is just as important as academic achievement and helps build confidence for future success.

Should you have any questions or concerns regarding your child’s progress, please reach out to their subject teachers in the first instance. Working together, we can support each student to overcome obstacles, build on their successes and achieve their full potential.

Locker Cleanout

We kindly remind families that students are required to empty their lockers on their last day of school. As some students may finish before Friday 18 September, we ask for your assistance in ensuring this is completed before they leave for the term. Removing all items helps protect personal belongings during the holiday break and contributes to the safety and security of our College community.
