All systems go in 5/6G!

It has been another busy and exciting time in 5/6G! The students have been learning, exploring and building new skills across a range of activities, while also making the most of opportunities to connect with one another and strengthen our classroom community.
Making a Splash at Swimming!
The students have thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the Swimming Program. Across the sessions, students have developed their swimming skills, water confidence and understanding of how to stay safe in and around the water. It has been fantastic to see students encouraging one another, challenging themselves and celebrating their progress.
Literacy - Natural Disasters
Our Literacy learning has taken us to exploring the topic of natural disasters. Students have been developing their reading, writing and research skills while learning about different types of natural disasters, their causes and their impacts on people and the environment. To bring their learning to life, the students designed and created their own dioramas depicting these natural disasters.
Celebrating Indonesian Day!
Indonesian Day was a wonderful opportunity for our students to immerse themselves in the language and culture of Indonesia. Students participated enthusiastically in a range of activities, developing their knowledge while enjoying a fun and interactive day with their classmates. It was fantastic to see students embracing the experience, and learning more about a country and culture that is an important part of our school community.
Creating Healthy Friendships
We have also been spending time thinking about what makes a healthy and positive friendship. Students have explored the importance of kindness, respect, trust, communication and including others. We have discussed how friendships can grow when we listen to one another, celebrate each other's differences and support our friends through both the good times and the challenging moments. It has been lovely to see the students forming strong connections and enjoying time together. The friendship activities have provided some wonderful opportunities to celebrate the positive relationships within 5/6G!
