The 1/2 students had a wonderful time exploring toys from the past and present during our Toys Over Time incursion! The students rotated through four exciting stations: Skills Land, Imagination Land, Construction Land and Action Land. They had the opportunity to play, build, create and explore while learning how toys have changed over time. It was a fun and hands-on experience that encouraged the students to compare toys from the past with the toys we enjoy today!

Here are some of our favourite moments and some of the things we learnt:

"I learnt that the old toys were made out of wood or things around the house." - Liam and Jac

"I learnt that a pie tin was made out of metal and was used as a frisbee." - Georgia

"My favourite toy was the Kendama. It was hard to catch the ball." - Thanasis

"I liked the incursion because I got to play with lots of different types of toys like Mr Potato Head" - Petro

“I liked the incursion because I got to play with lots of different toys, like He-Man, Mr. Potato Head, Hot Wheels and a slinky.” - Slade

"My favourite toy was the slinky because it was satisfying watching it fall." - Leo

"I liked Imagination Land because I played cafes with my friends." - Alessia

"My favourite toy was the toss and catch ball. It was fun throwing and catching it." - Annabelle

"I learnt that the slinky was made by accident, by Richard and Betty when it accidentally fell down the stairs." - Mila S.

"I learnt that the spinning top is the oldest toy in the world and the original was made out of wood." - Elijah

"We learnt that spinning tops are made out of wood." - Kaiah

"The person who made the rubik's cube could not solve the rubik's cube at first. He created it as a maths problem for his students." - Eddie

"The slinky was made by mistake by a machine. Once it was made by accident they realised it could be a fun toy to play with too." - Alex

"Slinky dog was not a toy until it featured in the Toy Story Movie. They wanted to include the slinky but they made it more interesting by making it into a dog." - Zane

"We made coffees and cakes in the imagination station, it was fun." - Liannah

Potato head was originally made out of a real potato originally being called Mr Funny Head." - Evie

"In 1949 Mr funny head was first made." - Terry

"We liked spinning the plate on the stick and the jumping game in the movement land." - Ruby & Dante

"The spinning top was one of the first toys." - Mila A

"I enjoyed playing with the toys. My favourite was the slinky dog." - Jafar

"I enjoyed imagining that I was a pirate fighting a dragon with Celine." - Emilia

"I enjoyed playing with the slinky because it was rainbow and massive." - Noah

"I enjoyed playing with the monkey barrel and I enjoyed using the buckets to walk on. I fell over twice but didn’t get hurt." - Rafael

"I learnt that the Rubik’s cube was made for a mathematics question." - Alexander

"I learnt how to use a slinky and that the slinky dog was made out of a slinky." - Lina

"I learnt how to do the walking buckets and not fall. I almost fell backwards twice." - Zarla

Kyrystal, Jaxon, Angeline, Daniel-Our favourite activity was when we were in Skills Land and Construction Land because it was fun to play with all the different toys.
