Diving into 3-4LG!

Year 3-4 Swimming Program
Our swimming program has been going… swimmingly! This 8-session program is so important and supports the developing skills of all our students. It has been lovely to see their enjoyment of swimming and their self-confidence continue to grow. This week our swimming program concludes on Friday with a fun water-safety day. Students will learn the vital skills and knowledge to stay safe in and around water. This includes activities such as rescues, water treading, life jackets, safe entries and exits, survival strokes, and safety rules. Good luck to all our swimmers!
Island Map Presentations
At the start of Term 3, students finalised their Geography learning through an exciting Island Mapping Project. They applied their knowledge of geography and map features to create and present their own imaginative islands. Students produced a detailed good-copy map, accompanied by a slideshow and presentation, showcasing their creativity and understanding of geographical concepts.
English - First Fleet - Biographies
Our students have shown great interest in learning about the First Fleet, Captain Arthur Phillip, Bennelong, Bungaree and many others from this time in our country’s history. As part of this learning, we are exploring “Biography” texts and creating our own biographies on someone from early colonial times, with information recorded from our note-taking lessons. It has been such a great unit of learning and we can’t wait to see the finished products and read all our student-written biographies.
Maths - Angles all around us!
This term in Mathematics, the 3/4 students have been learning about Multiplication and Division, Telling Time and Angles. As part of their current unit on Angles, students have been applying their knowledge to real-life situations by identifying and naming angles around the St John Vianney’s school grounds. This hands-on outdoor lesson was a fun way for students to put their learning into practice, and it was a lesson they thoroughly enjoyed!
