Principal's Message

Long Service Leave

I wanted to share a brief update with our school community that I will be taking Long  Service Leave for one week from Wednesday the 13th of May and will return on Wednesday the 20th of May. During this time, Rhiana Macrae will be Acting Principal. I’m very appreciative of Rhiana stepping into this role and of the strong support of our leadership team and staff. I am confident the school will continue to operate smoothly and that our students will continue to be well cared for and supported.

House Athletics Day

Our recent Athletics Day was a fantastic celebration for our school. It was wonderful to see our students giving their best effort, encouraging one another and demonstrating such positive attitudes throughout the day. We are incredibly proud of the way all students participated and represented our school community.

A sincere thank you to our dedicated teachers and staff for their organisation, enthusiasm, and support in making the day such a success. Events like these require a tremendous amount of planning and teamwork, and we greatly appreciate all of their efforts behind the scenes and on the day itself.

We would also like to thank our parent helpers who generously volunteered their time to assist throughout the event. Your support helps create memorable experiences for our students and strengthens our wonderful school community.

Finally, thank you to TheirCare for kindly providing coffee and hot chocolate for our community on the day. Your generosity was greatly appreciated by families and staff alike.

Open Evening

A reminder to all of our community that we are inviting all current and prospective families to our Open Evening on the 20th of May from 3:45pm to 4:30pm. This is a great opportunity to explore our learning spaces, meet staff, and gain a sense of the engaging and supportive environment we offer our students.

Parent Association

I would like to extend our sincere thanks to our Parent Association for their wonderful organisation of this year’s Mother’s Day Stall. The event was extremely successful, very well organised, and provided our students with a special opportunity to thoughtfully select gifts for the important people in their lives.

It was lovely to see the excitement and care students showed while choosing presents for their mothers, grandmothers, and other special people. Thank you to all of the volunteers who generously gave their time to make the stall run so smoothly.

We hope all of the mothers, grandmothers, and special people in our students’ lives enjoyed a very special Mother’s Day.

Have you considered joining the Parent Association?  This is a way to support and have a lot of fun in the events. We welcome all support and have a variety of ways to support  that matches your time commitments. We warmly invite you to join us, your perspective and participation truly make a difference. If you are interested, or would like to learn more, please reach out at pa.yarraroadps@gmail.com

Working Bee

We have an upcoming Working Bee on Sunday the 31st of May from 9:00am to 12:00pm, and warmly invite all families to come along and get involved. It’s a fantastic opportunity to help improve our school grounds while also connecting with other members of our community.

Students are very welcome to attend alongside their parents or carers, provided they are supervised at all times. There will be a range of tasks available, so whether you can contribute for the full morning or just a short time, every bit of help makes a real difference.

If we do not have sufficient numbers, we may need to postpone the event. If you are available to help, please fill in the form below. We really appreciate all the support.

Acting Principal

As I step into the role of Acting Principal, while Mrs. Butler is on leave, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our school community for the continued support you show our students and staff each day. It is a privilege to support the school in this role and to work alongside such dedicated teachers, students, and families.

In my role as Assistant Principal, it has always been wonderful to see the enthusiasm and engagement of students across all areas of school life. From classroom learning to sporting events, leadership opportunities and playground friendships, our students continue to demonstrate resilience, respect, and a willingness to challenge themselves.

As we move further into the term and the approach of the colder weather, attendance and consistent routines remain important in supporting student learning, health, and wellbeing. Thank you to all of our families for your ongoing partnership in ensuring students arrive ready to learn each day.

I look forward to supporting our school community in the acting role throughout the week ahead.
