Over the past fortnight in Performing Arts, students have been enthusiastically preparing for our upcoming production of Disney's Alice in Wonderland Jr.. Throughout rehearsals and class activities, students have been learning choreography, refining their performance skills, and building confidence on stage.
Students have been practising movement routines, developing their timing and coordination, and learning the value of teamwork during rehearsals. It has been wonderful to see students supporting and encouraging each other while demonstrating creativity and growing confidence each week.
Classes have also been focusing on stage positioning and the appropriate use of props to help bring performances to life. Students are continuing to develop an understanding of how expression, energy, and audience engagement contribute to an effective performance.
Congratulations to all of our Year 5 and 6 students who auditioned and successfully secured roles. I am incredibly proud of the courage, enthusiasm, and dedication students displayed throughout the audition process. It has also been fantastic to see the genuine excitement and support students have shown for one another as roles were announced.

It has been a busy few weeks in PE as we have focused on the skills of Australian Football. Students have been working hard to master the fundamentals of handballing, marking, kicking, and bouncing, showing fantastic progress in their coordination and technique. For our Year 3/4 and 5/6 cohorts, these skills were put to the test in games of ‘tails’ and ‘tag footy’, where students used velcro belts and tags to practise their evasion and defensive positioning in a fun, competitive way.
Our Whole-school House Athletics was a brilliant day filled with school spirit and determination as students competed across a variety of track and field events, including high jump, long jump, sprinting, discus, and shot put. A special mention to our Age Group Champions, who were awarded medals at our last assembly for achieving the highest overall points in their respective age categories.
The final standings from the day were as follows:
Power: 1433
Turner: 1413
Gatter: 1106
Wilson: 1065
Congratulations to Power for taking the top spot!
Finally, we would like to extend a sincere thank you to our parent volunteers. Your time, effort, and support in measuring, timing, and coordinating events were invaluable. These days simply cannot run without your help, and we truly appreciate you being part of our school community.
