Here are some delightful "Harmony Trees' that 1A and 1B have created, with a focus on learning about 'harmonious colours'. These are colours that go well together and can be found close to each other on the colour wheel. They are just in time for Harmony Day on March 21st.

1C are making 'Contrast Trees' with a special surprise element to come next week. You will see them all in our Student Art Show as part of the Community Arts Fair on Friday 27th March, from 4 - 8 pm, gates close 8:30 pm. It's going to be HUGE! Please spread the word far and wide, friends, family, anywhere you go! Everyone is welcome.

Physical Education

Level F- 2

In PE this week, our F–2 students have been participating in an exciting gymnastics program! We are very fortunate to have Luke from Melbourne Tumbling Academy working with our students and teaching them fundamental gymnastics skills.

Students have been loving his engaging and energetic teaching style, and are already learning fantastic new skills such as forward rolls, handstands and rocket jumps. It has been wonderful to see their confidence and enthusiasm growing each session!

Level 3 & 4

In Levels 3 and 4, students have continued developing their skills in net/wall sports. They have been learning and playing new and engaging games such as Newcombe Ball and Nitro Ball.

Throughout these activities, students have been introduced to the 4R’s — Read, React, Respond and Recover

It has been fantastic to see students building their confidence, teamwork, and game awareness each week.

 Level 5 and 6

In Levels 5 and 6, students have continued developing their skills in net/wall sports. They have been learning and playing net/ wall sports such as Volleyball and Tennis.

Throughout these activities, students have been introduced to the 4R’s — Read, React, Respond and Recover. These strategies help students understand the game by encouraging them to read the play, react quickly, respond effectively with the appropriate skill, and recover ready for the next action.

It has been fantastic to see students building their confidence, teamwork, and game awareness each week.

Science

Foundation

Our little Scientists have continued to learn with their friend Albert, studying the the needs of living things.

Level 1 & 2

In Level 1 & 2 we are learning to identify when an action involves a push and when it involves a push. We represented these actions with arrows and learnt that when we use more force we represent this with a thicker arrow. We practiced pull with a fun game of tug of war.

Level 3 & 4

Level 3 & 4s have commenced the unit of fair testing. We experimented with dropping water on a 5 cent piece and we learnt that water is sticky.

Level 5 & 6

Our senior scientists have drawn on their prior learning to share what they know about the solar system. Throughout the remainder of the term we will dive deeper into space, learning about gravity, orbits and the rotation of planets.
