Principal's Report

Dear SEPS Families,

Last week I had the honour of joining a school review panel in the Mornington Peninsula as a challenge partner. It is a wonderful opportunity to join another school and celebrate their strengths, assist in identifying areas for improvement and offer key improvement strategies to support their strategic plan. I take these opportunities to not only learn more myself but reflect on how we are going in our own improvement journey at SEPS. I find that I always bring new ideas or challenges back to our own leadership team, but it also confirms what are fantastic team we have here at SEPS and that the work we are doing is the right work.

Student Leaders

This week Mrs Gau and I had the pleasure of taking our student leadership team to the Annual Youth Leadership Conference at the MCEC. Over 2000 Year 5 & 6 students attended the conference and our students respect, maturity and exemplary manners shone. They represented our school beautifully and clearly leaders not only of our school, but our future as well. They engaged in all the challenges that were set, they introduced themselves to other students from different schools and they reflected on their goals and skills as part of their leadership development. We are immensely proud of them!

School Council

We were very fortunate to have exactly 8 parent nominations for school council this year. We are very grateful for their commitment to our school and for giving up their time to support SEPS. We will be holding the School Council AGM on Monday 23 March at 6pm. After the AGM concludes, we will be holding elections for school council positions and will announce the new School Council on Tuesday. The AGM will be a public meeting, where we present our annual report. All members of the public are welcome to attend. If you are interested in joining us please RSVP via the office by 4pm on Monday. Visitors and observers are always welcome to join us at standard meetings so please reach out if you would ever like to come along to see how council works.

Uniform Shop

A very big thank you to our wonderful 4A student Beau and his mum Julie, for sorting through all the donations for the Uniform Shop. Due to excess stock, Julie has arranged for some items without a logo to be donated to the Charity ‘Mums Supporting Families In Need’ in Seaford. We are so grateful to have Julie & Beau not only support our own community looking after the uniform shop but to also pay it forward on to a charity in need, on our behalf.

ArtFest

The big event is finally upon us. We hope you can find time to pop in next Friday and soak up the atmosphere at our new look event. Planning for this event started early last year and we hope to attract not only everyone from the SEPS community but also our local Sandy community, so please bring your friends, family and neighbours along to enjoy the fun, food and festivities.

We look forward to seeing you all next Friday. Have a wonderful fortnight ahead.
