District Cross Country

On Monday, 50 students ranging from years 3 to 6 represented SJV at the Wellington District Cross Country event held at Norton's Park.  Our students raced in 2km and 3km events against 7 other schools.  Each race had between 70 to 80 competitors!  

In what were very fast, challenging races, many of our students finished in the top 25 of each race, with 5 qualifying for Division Cross Counrty by finishing in the top 12 of their event.  

Congratulations to Angelika, Samuel, Scott, Caris and Nickolas K who have all qualified for the Monash-Waverley Division Cross Country event which will be held on Wednesday 29th May at Mirrabooka Reserve in Blackburn South.  

A big thank you to our parents who helped as track marshals on the day - Michael and Francine, and to our super staff for being there to support and cheer for every runner!

Each year there is a school trophy awarded at the end of the day, and while SJV didn't win the trophy this year, we proudly finished 5th - an excellent result by our team.
