On Friday 7 November, the Year 8s had their long awaited Year 8 Day, a fun yet relaxing day to celebrate all of the hard work and the wonderful year we’ve had as it soon comes to an end. First, we enjoyed the difficult trivia put together by the Junior School team, and we were challenged by the many questions in categories like pop culture, music, MGSC knowledge, movies, and whether ‘room without air conditioners are hot’ is a real news headline (take your guesses). Congratulations to the top six groups who all won delectable prizes for their hard work and determination in the trivia competition.

After that we had a familiar visit with Kingston Youth Services, thanks to the close relationship we’ve maintained with them and the school. It was a pleasant session getting both active and creative with several team building activities and creating charms, alongside some preparation for our transition into middle school.

Parents must have been ecstatic for not having to pack lunch because of a sensational sausage sizzle, filling us right up as we piled into the lecture theatre to watch A Night In The Museum, an entertaining film that we collectively voted on as a year level cohort. We all had a great time as we unwound whilst watching the movie and eating some tasty popcorn.

Thank you so much to all of the Junior School Staff and other staff members who helped to make this day possible. We had a great time and we appreciate the hard work and organisation that went into giving us a brilliant day of celebration to finish off Year 8.

Junior School Farewell

We would also like to thank the Junior School Team for all of their hard work supporting us throughout our Junior School journey. As we now head off to Middle School and beyond, we will never forget the support you gave us to navigate our first two years of high school.

As Junior School Captains, we are beyond proud of the amazing things we’ve all accomplished and the people we’re still becoming today as a Year level. We’ve come a long way from the little Year 7s who first stepped into this school almost two years ago with our classically oversized blazers. We can’t wait to see what our next chapter will hold in Year 9 and onwards.
