Acting Principal's Message

Week Eight is already here!

I was lucky enough to travel down to the Department of Education's annual Principal Conference in Melbourne Tuesday and Wednesday. This was an amazing opportunity for new learning and department updates. There were updates to Racism policies, Suspension polices, as well as updates from department representatives and time to investigate the VTLM2.0. It was also amazing to spend time with very experienced principals as well as department organisations. This allowed time to explore what new resources or links I could bring back to our school community.

Friday 6th June was a pupil free. Staff completed their final Berry Street program day at Hamilton Parklands School. Staff are looking forward to completing this training (four-day program spanning 2024 and 2025). Berry street allows us to learn more about student mental health, school-wide positive practices and calm classroom routines.

We have all noticed the weather getting much colder across the previous weeks. Please remember to dress your children in appropriate clothing. We ask that this clothing is school uniform. Some students are coming into school in alternative casual clothing. If you require assistance in providing school uniform, please reach out to our office staff. We understand the cost of living is making things more challenging, however we can help in many ways and welcome those who need some support.

Remember it is a public holiday Monday 9th June. Enjoy some additional time with your families and a long weekend.
