Year 12 Celebrations

Senior School

Year 12 Primary School Day and Senior Sunset

On Tue 7 October, Year 12’s had a trip down memory lane with our highly anticipated and special, Primary School Day! We went back in time and dressed up in our old primary school uniforms. It was so special to see the familiar faces of some of our former Principals and teaching staff who were able to attend and took the time out of their hectic day to say a few words!

We enjoyed some snags, shared laughs and reminisced about our Primary School days and how far we have come. The fact that our Primary School uniforms still fit was really scary – just goes to show our parents bought big so we could grow into them!

We ended the day with the Charity Shave and Save from our VMS students with Zach Hoo, Ms. Zuflic, and Mr. Pearson all shaving their heads and raising over $400 for a range of charities.

Later that evening, the celebrations continued with our Senior Sunset, the perfect follow up to the Senior Sunrise at the start of the year. We got the chance to read the letters that we wrote at the Sunrise which was the starting point for our Year 12 journey – so many reflections on what we had achieved, the dreams and aspirations we set for ourselves and the reality, now that we had made it through to the end. We enjoyed a pizza dinner with plenty of snacks and spontaneously dove into a competitive game of musical chairs (We did not hold back!).

The night also included some epic ‘Just Dance’, much to the delight (and amusement) of the senior school staff, who enjoyed laughing with us....or at us.

We ended the night taking photos on the oval, with our Senior Sunset frame, beautifully made by Miss Zhang. We took heaps of photos to capture the memories as we approach our final days of High School. A huge thank you to Ms. Lobriza - Kalt, Ms. Zhang, Mr. Doble, and Mr. Pearson for supervising and helping make the evening so special, and another thank you to everyone who came along and made the day a truly memorable way to round out Year 12.

Seniors as Seniors

Tuesday was an SRC out of uniform fundraising day for our school, but Year 12's were tasked to dress as Seniors.  This was a great contrast to them dressing up in their Primary School uniforms in Week 1.   Some of our 'Senior Citizens' took the opportunity to find out about the final event for Year 12s this year - the Art & Tech Showcase Presentation Evening!

This incredible exhibition showcases the amazing efforts and talents of the VCE Visual Arts & Technology students, and includes an Awards presentation, runway show, and the Great Wantirna Bake Off! More information further in this Newsletter.
