Principal Team Editorial

Our start to Term 4 has been very positive! As the weather improves and the days get longer, there seems to be a spring in everyone’s step. I’ve had the pleasure of visiting lots of classes in the last week where students are actively engaged in learning and producing a high standard of work.
The beginning of Term 4 always starts with a bang as the countdown to farewelling our Year 12 students begins and they finish final assessments and prepare for exams. The holidays for many of our 12s and their teachers, was a ‘working’ holiday with a schedule jam- packed with revision lectures in the first week and practice exams in the second week. Over the next month, I encourage all Year 12s who are doing exams to study hard and have no regrets. It's a great opportunity to realise the positive outcomes they can achieve through hard work and application not just this year but as the culmination of their schooling journey.
Year 12 Celebrations
Last Tuesday, we invited local Primary School Principals to our Year 12 Primary School day as we celebrated and acknowledged the formative years of their education from prep to grade 6. It was a great opportunity to reconnect with primary teachers and educators and play some games that were reminiscent of the ‘old school days.’ This special day ended with ‘Senior Sunset' which picked up on the metaphor of the sun setting on their schooling days.
Next Tuesday (21 October) we look forward to celebrating the official last day of school for Year 12s with students and their parents. Having our parents be part of the day is a Wantirna College tradition. I’m sure we all remember our child’s very first day in prep and we want to give our parents the opportunity to ‘book end’ that memory with their very last day of school as a Year 12 student who is now an adult ready to embark on the next chapter of their lives.
iCan Challenge 2026
We have officially launched our iCan Challenge campaign with registration happening this week. We have already signed up more students than we’ve had in previous years and look forward to kicking off our training walks next Thursday, 23 October.
Parents are also invited to sign up and help us raise $100k by participating in the 50km walk with us on Wed 1st April 2026. If you are interested, please follow the link below to submit an Expression of Interest form.

Term 4 Parent Forum
Tuesday 21st October, 6pm Staff Lounge
I look forward to this Term’s Parent Forum where I will be sharing data from the parent/student/staff surveys and also hearing feedback and issues from parents/carers. I encourage you to come along to the forum – it’s a great opportunity to find out more about the school, connect with other parents and have your voice heard by the Principal Team.
Please let us know your intention to attend Here.
