Careers & Pathways

Senior School Years 9 -12

Upcoming Swinburne VET Tasters

Around 22 of our Year 10 students have opted in to take part in the Swinburne University of Technology VET Taster Program, an exciting hands-on learning experience designed to help students explore potential career pathways.

Over three days at Swinburne’s Croydon and Wantirna campuses, students will rotate through practical taster sessions in various areas, including Community Services, Allied Health, Early Childhood Education, Bricklaying, Welding, Building and Construction, Electrotechnology, and Plumbing. These sessions will give students valuable insight into the skills, tools, and training involved in different trades and industries, as well as an understanding of the pathways available through TAFE and apprenticeships.

In addition to the campus days, students will also take part in two in-school workshops focused on developing transferable skills for career readiness, and two industry excursions where they’ll see these professions in action within real workplaces.

We’re thrilled to see our students taking advantage of these opportunities to learn, explore, and gain confidence in their future pathways.

Parents and carers are reminded to provide consent as soon as possible to ensure their child’s participation. We look forward to seeing our students get the most out of this valuable and engaging program!

VTAC Update - Congratulations Year 12s!

A huge congratulations to our Year 12 students who have now completed their timely VTAC applications, along with SEAS and scholarship submissions. This marks an important milestone in your post-school journey, and we commend you for the time, effort, and research you’ve put into exploring your future pathways.

Looking ahead, ATARs will be released at 7am on Thursday 11 December, followed by the change of preference period closing at 12.00pm on Saturday 13 December. From now up until Sat 13 December, students are able to review and change their preferences as desired.

Your trusty Careers Practitioners, Mrs Jessie Dennison and Mr Tim Knowles, will be available to provide advice and support throughout this period, so please reach out if you’d like to discuss your preferences or pathway options.

We wish all students the very best for their upcoming exams and encourage you to take pride in all you’ve achieved so far—you're almost there!
