Year Three/Four News 

What a huge term of learning and activities we have had! The 3/4 Team are very proud of everyone's efforts this term, from completing our Writers' Festival pieces to engaging in other activities like the Art Incursion and Colour Run. 

During these final weeks, we have been focusing on finalising various projects. 

In Reading, students have been working on developing their Creative Reading Response for our class novel, 'No Words'. They were tasked with creating a storyboard for the climax of the story, writing the first chapter of the sequel or developing a timeline to show a character's growth across the story. This task provided students the opportunity to be more imaginative and demonstrate their knowledge of the text, which they have studied closely all term. 

In Writing, students developed their analytical expositions, a form of persuasive writing, to demonstrate the importance of a key ideas related to bullying. We integrated various persuasive writing skills, including rhetorical questions and evidence, to support our arguments and persuade the reader. As with our other non-fiction texts this term, these pieces were published on the iPads, allowing students to practise their typing skills using a keyboard, while also considering features such as fonts and text size. 

In Humanities, students have spent the term learning about community. Their inquiry project for this term was to research a cultural group present in Australia, sharing information about the culture's origins, languages, celebrations and traditions. Across the Brady Building tomorrow, students will have the opportunity to share their presentations with others across the 3/4 cohort, supporting each other to learn about the various cultures that contribute to the Australian community.
