Year Two News

Year 2 students have had a very busy end to Term 3! We are still working very hard but are very excited for the holidays.
We have finished our very first novel study as part of our Storybook lessons in InitiaLit. Roald Dahl's 'George's Marvellous Medicine was thoroughly enjoyed by all students. We can't wait for our new novel next term!
In writing, students have been very busy working on publishing their information reports about Emergency Services. Using what they learned in Humanities, what they already knew and what they researched using the iPads, students have been working very hard plan, draft, edit and publish their writing.
In maths, we have been learning about Place Value. Students have been reading, ordering, writing and making a wide range of numbers. Students in M5 were challenged to make a structure using 20 MAB blocks and then working out the total hundreds, tens and ones that they used.
We would like to thank families for their ongoing support. We have many exciting things to look forward to next term including swimming, Cosmodome incursion and of course the Year 2 Camp Experience! We hope all families enjoy the holiday break.
