EUREKA DIVISION TRACK AND FIELD

Congratulations to the 48 students who competed at the Eureka Division Track and Field Championships at Llanberris last Wednesday!

It was a busy and exciting day, with a large number of students competing and events taking place across the track and field throughout the day. Our students represented Miners Rest beautifully, demonstrating fantastic sportsmanship, encouraging one another and always giving their very best.

We are extremely proud of all 48 students and congratulate the following students who have progressed through to the Regional Track and Field Championships in Week 1 of Term 4. A wonderful achievement!

Seth C – 1500m – 2nd

Archie G – 1500m – 2nd 

Gus B – long jump – 1st 

Levi H – long jump – 1st, 100m – 1st, shot put – 1st 

Jesse C – discus – 1st 

Noah M – triple jump – 2nd 

Alirah D – shot put 1st, discus – 2nd 

Edwin B – 100m – 2nd 

Imogen D – shot put – 2nd 

Emma W – long jump – 1st 

Jack P – triple jump – 1st 

Girls 9/10 Relay – 1st Mia B, Maddi F, Lily S, Miller W

There were also a number of students who finished 3rd and narrowly missed out on progressing through to Regionals.

Flether P – shot put – 3rd

Victoria P – 100m and 200m – 3rd 

Damien M – long jump – 3rd 

Jared Y – 800m – 3rd 

Isabelle C – 800m – 3rd 

Seth C – 800m – 3rd 

All our other relay teams finished 2nd which was an amazing effort.

TERM 4

We are looking forward to another busy and exciting Term 4 in Sport! Our Swimming Program will commence in Week 2, with plenty of other sporting opportunities to look forward to.

In Week 1, we have the Greater Western Region Track and Field Competition, followed by the Midlands Golf Competition and Eureka Cricket Competition. We will also have Ball Sports in Week 8 and, to finish the year off, our much-loved Chrissy Carry On!

It promises to be a fantastic term full of fun, participation and sporting opportunities for our students!
