Foundation/ Year One News 

This term in Science, our Foundation students have been learning about animals and their features. We explored the different body parts animals have and discussed how these features help animals to move, eat, stay safe and survive in their environments.

To celebrate and demonstrate their learning, students planned, designed and created their own model of an animal. They carefully considered the important features their animal needed and used a range of craft materials to bring their designs to life.

We are very proud of the creativity, planning and scientific thinking shown by our Foundation students!

This term in Writing we worked on persuading our readers. We read "The Pigeon Has To Go To School" and as a class, developed arguments for why it is important for the pigeon to go to school. Next we read "The Pigeon Wants A Puppy" where the pigeon was convincing the reader why it is a good idea for him to have a puppy. We used this style of writing and our knowledge from our whole class text to write to our family and convince them to buy us a pet. Enjoy some of our writing below!
