We are pleased to advise that we have secured After School Sport - Soccer in Term 1 next year.

Chess mates - Term 1

We are thrilled to announce a fantastic new after-school sport opportunity coming to Modbury School in Term 1, 2026! The Governing Council discussed this opportunity at our last meeting in 2025 and is excited to be able to offer extra-curricular opportunities for our students.

Chess Mates will be running engaging chess sessions every Wednesday from 3:05 pm to 4:05 pm in the STEM Room, open to all students from Reception to Year 6. This starts in Week 3. 

Don’t miss out on the free sample session on February 11th (Week 3)—come along, give it a try, and discover just how rewarding chess can be!

As this is an after-school sport activity, this will not be supervised by school staff, and parents will be expected to stay and support the supervision of their child/ren.

Chess Mates is a fun and interactive way for students to develop their creativity, concentration, problem-solving skills, and teamwork, while enjoying the excitement of strategic play.
