Storm boy
In Year 4 we have been reading a book called Storm Boy. It's a book about a boy and a pelican with a strong friendship. It has led us to making our own pelican artwork that is proudly displayed in our classroom. This art was inspired by Peter Cromer.
We have also completed an information report about pelicans. We documented how they eat and where they live and the place where storm boy lives is in the Coorong, a place in South Australia which has sand dunes.

Big Mouth
In Year 4 we have also been working on some abstract art faces. Our art work is titled Big Mouth. They are black and white, with big, colourful lips and a bright background. Abstract portraits are great to draw as there is no pressure to make them look realistic. As long as we include the basics like eyes, nose, mouth etc, everyone will know it’s a face. We were learning about using different textures, colours and patterns.

Festival of voices
Year 4 has gone to Sandford to listen to the Festival Of Voices performed by the Bendigo youth choir. When we first got there we got to do a workshop so we could learn a dance and a few songs. When the concert started we got into our seats and sat for an hour and thirty minutes. In my opinion I say that the concert was great!
A few people that the Bendigo youth choir might have known came to watch. During maybe halfway Year 4 got up from our seats and we got up from our seats and went on stage to perform a song called Dance!
