Pathways

We were delighted to welcome back College alumnae and former Vice Captain, Emma Vella (Class of 2017), who shared her inspiring career journey in marketing at our recent Lunch & Learn. Now working at Nine in business marketing for The Australian Financial Review, Emma provided students with valuable insights into the industry, her career pathway and the many opportunities available. Students gained practical knowledge of key marketing processes, along with advice on pathways including traineeships, TAFE and university. We thank Emma for her engaging presentation and for inspiring our students with her experience, insights and encouragement. Hear from Year 8 students, Gurnoor and Mia, as they share their key takeaways from the session. Next term we’re once again welcoming a wide range of Sydney-based and regional universities to our Lunch & Learn line-up!

We are proud to celebrate five of our Year 12 students who have graduated from the Step Up Into Teaching (SUIT) Program, delivered in partnership with Australian Catholic University and Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese. Through this initiative, students completed two first-year education units in their school holidays and have received conditional offers into aligned teaching degrees - an outstanding achievement while still at school. This milestone was recently recognised at a special graduation ceremony in Strathfield, attended by staff from Caroline Chisholm College and the wider CSPD community, as well as their very proud families. Congratulations to our students on this fantastic accomplishment, and we invite you to hear from graduates Isabella and Rhianna as they share what the SUIT program has meant to them.

From the classroom to centre stage, Bernadette Fam (Class of 2014) has built an inspiring creative career across Sydney and Melbourne’s theatre scene, shared in our latest Minute with a Mentor. We thank Bernadette for generously sharing her journey and inspiring students passionate about drama and storytelling.

As our Year 12 students approach the end of their schooling, they are faced with many important decisions about their future. To support them, we recently held a dedicated session in their Wellbeing lesson to provide guidance, tools and tailored resources to help each student develop a clear and personalised post-school pathway plan. We explored a wide range of options, including university pathways through UAC and early entry, as well as TAFE, college, and employment opportunities.

With so many pathways available, we are dedicated to supporting every student through ongoing guidance and personalised coaching as they plan for life beyond school - whether in Year 12 or earlier in their schooling journey.

Students can email amacnamara1@parra.catholic.edu.au or koliver4@parra.catholic.edu.au to book in a coaching session with Kara or I.
