From the Principal Leader

Dear staff, students, parents, carers and friends of Chisholm,
As we come to the end of Term 1 at Caroline Chisholm College, I would like to sincerely thank our students, staff, and families for what has been a positive, productive, and enriching start to the 2026 school year. The energy and enthusiasm across the College have set a strong foundation for the year ahead, and it has been pleasing to see our community so actively engaged in all aspects of school life. Our college swimming carnival at the start of the term was absolutely sensational continuing to build our college spirit and love of sport. I am so pleased the carnival was well attended and students and staff were able to build relationships and enjoy both competitive races and novelty events to build house spirit as well! I am very proud and pleased that Ms Muscat, Mrs McElroy and the PDHPE team were able to organize such an outstanding carnival for our college community.
Throughout the term, our classrooms have been vibrant places of learning, with students demonstrating commitment, curiosity, and a willingness to challenge themselves. From our newest Year 7 students settling confidently into high school life, to our senior students embracing the rigours of their courses, there has been a clear sense of purpose and pride in learning.
I would like to particularly commend our Year 7 and Year 9 students for their approach to NAPLAN this term. They undertook these assessments with focus and maturity, supported every step of the way by our dedicated teachers and support staff. Their efforts reflect the importance we place on perseverance, growth, and striving for personal best. Well done to our Year 7 and 9 students for giving your best to the NAPLAN tests.
Beyond the classroom, Term 1 has also provided many opportunities for students to engage in co-curricular activities, leadership, sporting events, and faith formation experiences. These moments are vital in shaping the holistic development of our young people and strengthening the sense of belonging within our College community. I am very proud of our Year 11 and 12 students who are all striving to do their absolute best as learners through their ongoing commitment to their HSC subjects, their focus on responding to teacher feedback for further improvement and their passion for supporting one another on their journey towards achieving their personal goals. There are only 2 more terms for Year 12 so I encourage you to attend holiday study sessions, have a well-earned break and continue your hard work in completing assessments to a high standard. I am confident that the HSC 2026 year group will be a very successful year group through their courage to work diligently, their passion to exceed expectations and their compassion and care for each other on their journey to ensure their well-being is optimal.
As we now enter the sacred season of Easter, we are invited to reflect on its profound message of hope, renewal, and new life. Easter is a time that reminds us of the power of resilience, faith, and love. It calls us to be people of compassion and kindness, to support one another, and to bring light into the lives of others. In the busyness of our daily lives, this season offers us a valuable opportunity to pause, reflect, and reconnect with what truly matters, our family and friends whom we love and offers an opportunity to express this through gratitude and reconciliation.
The upcoming holiday break is a well-earned opportunity for rest and renewal. I encourage all students to take time to recharge, enjoy the company of family and friends, and return in Term 2 ready to continue their learning journey with renewed energy and focus.
I would like to extend my gratitude to our staff for their professionalism, dedication, care, and unwavering commitment to our students. I also thank our families for their ongoing partnership and support, which plays such an important role in the success of our College. We certainly have a very special community here at Chisholm and it is one that we will all continue to foster and grow during the next 3 terms of 2026. Our theme is ‘Even Better Together in 2026’ and I know we are all focused on making this our reality each and every day at CCC.
We look forward to welcoming everyone back and continuing to build on the strong start we have made together.
Wishing you and your families a safe, restful, and blessed Easter.
Mrs Tania Cairns
Principal Leader
