Sweet Success for Project Compassion

In Week 9, our Year 12 students successfully led the second Senior Bake Sale, demonstrating outstanding leadership, generosity, and commitment to service. Their efforts are to be highly commended, as they gave their time and energy to support this important initiative in aid of Project Compassion.

Across both Senior Bake Sales, Year 10-12 students raised over $1,500. This is an incredible achievement that reflects their dedication and the generosity of our school community.

Through this bake sale, students actively lived out the value of solidarity, standing in unity with those who are less fortunate. By working together and contributing to a shared cause, they showed a deep awareness of the needs of communities around the world who require support, dignity, and opportunity.

The funds raised will go towards Project Compassion, helping Caritas Australia continue its vital work in supporting vulnerable communities globally. This initiative is a powerful reminder that even small acts, when done with compassion and purpose, can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

We thank our Year 10-12 students for their dedication, leadership, and willingness to serve. Their example continues to inspire our school community to put faith into action.

In Week 9, students in Years 7–10 took part in the Walk for Water, a powerful Lenten initiative in support of Project Compassion. In a meaningful act of solidarity, students chose to give up their recess and lunch breaks to walk while carrying buckets of water, symbolising the daily reality faced by many people in Africa, Asia, and the Pacific who must travel long distances to access clean water.

This experience provided students with a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by others around the world, while encouraging empathy, compassion, and a commitment to justice. By stepping into the shoes of those in need, our junior students demonstrated what it truly means to live out their faith in action.

Through their efforts, including seeking sponsorship and raising awareness, students have raised an outstanding $2,346 for Project Compassion. These funds will help support Caritas Australia’s work in creating lasting change, empowering communities to access clean water, improve health and build sustainable futures.

We commend our Years 7–10 students for their generosity, sacrifice, and willingness to stand in solidarity with others. Their actions are a powerful reminder that together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those most in need.

Good Friday Night Pilgrimage – Senior Students in Faith

Our Year 11 and 12 students will soon take part in the Good Friday Night Walk, a powerful faith experience hosted by the Diocese of Parramatta Youth Ministry Office. This annual pilgrimage brings together hundreds of young people from across Western Sydney, creating a vibrant expression of faith, unity, and devotion.

Beginning late on Good Friday and continuing into the early hours of Holy Saturday, this overnight pilgrimage invites students to journey together in prayer, reflection, and reverence as they retrace the steps of Christ during the Easter Triduum. It is a deeply meaningful opportunity for our senior students to step away from their daily routines and enter into the significance of this sacred time in the Church’s calendar.

Through this experience, students are called to deepen their relationship with Christ, grow in faith, and stand in solidarity with others on the same journey. The pilgrimage not only challenges them physically, but also spiritually, encouraging reflection, resilience, and a renewed sense of purpose.

We look forward to our senior students embracing this opportunity with openness and reverence, as they continue to live out their faith in action.
