Library News

What is new in 2026?

At Everton Campus, we are reorganising our fiction collection by genre. Students and staff will notice changes in how books are shelved and displayed. Many readers choose books by interest or theme rather than author. Shelving by genre makes books easier to find, supports browsing, and helps students discover new authors. This approach is recognised as good library practice. It increases reading engagement, improves circulation, and builds confidence in book selection. Look out for new spine labels to help everyone navigate the collection.

At the Senior Campus, we are reviewing the way we organise the library collection. The library team will be seeking and reviewing feedback from both students and staff to help guide any future changes that best support learning, access, and reading engagement across the campus.

This is a wonderful opportunity for students to showcase their creativity, imagination, and writing talent. Students can scan the QR code on posters for full details on how to enter and criteria summary for Years 7-8, Years 9-10, Years 11-12. We look forward to reading the work our students create.

Library Loan Period Reminder

Students enjoy a two-week loan period for borrowed books. While they are welcome to borrow books over the school break, we are currently following up on a number of overdue items. If more time is needed, students are encouraged to renew their books. Otherwise, we kindly ask that all items be returned within the two-week loan period. Books can be conveniently returned using the library return chute.

Library Usage

Often described as the heartbeat of a school, the library is a central hub for learning, creativity, and community. At Bemin, our libraries are vibrant, well-used spaces. They are regularly used for classes & assessments, staff meetings & training, events, activities, clubs, silent study, and reading sessions.
