Principal's Report

Term 1
The College is proud to have all year levels 7-12 in 2026. This is an amazing achievement given we opened two years and one term ago. As our College continues to grow it has been exciting to see Stage 2 building and construction occurring in line with the continuing increase in enrolments. It is a year of a lot of firsts. We have our first Year 12 students; we will be hosting our first General Achievement Test (GAT) for all VCE/VM students completing Units 3 and 4. We also have our first Year 9 students and Year 9 Elective Program. Great care and planning has taken place across the last two years for the College to be in such an accomplished position and for this I thank our staff who have welcomed another 58 new teachers into our community.
I encourage all students and families to read the progress reports and check Compass and Google classroom regularly for ongoing feedback, updates and information about each student's learning. The College is heavily focussing on improving the attendance of students. This includes whole days, fractional truancy during the day and arriving late to school and class. No one can dispute the importance of being on time. This is completely relevant whether you are turning up to play sport, go to work, an invited party and school. I thank all the students who do turn up on time ready to learn in uniform with equipment and encourage those who need to continue to improve to work with our teachers to do so.
School Council
I have been very privileged to have had very committed and supportive School Council. The members and office bearers for this year are:
School Council President - Meeta Vyas
School Council Vice President - Bhavisha Robbins
Treasurer (School Employee) - Ignatius Zanetidis
Parent Member - Claire Sanders
Parent Member - Andrew Corr
School Employee - Katherine Phillips
School Employee - Joanne Camozzato
Student - Eleanor Sanders
Community Member - Geetanjali Gaba
Stage 2 Build Update 2026
Currently, the Stage 2 build across both campuses is to schedule. VSBA and Hutchinsons Builders have informed the College that footpath access across the site driveway entrance on Morris Road will be required to be closed off due to ongoing safety issues. Once Wyndham Local Council approves of the request this will take effect and further information will be sent out to the community.
We were all excited to hear that along with the oval at the Junior campus they will also receive more shelter and tables adjacent to the canteen, an outdoor Tech /Arts Space, a further two outdoor courts, further outdoor sporting equipment and a Productive Garden.
Staffing Update
We do welcome the following staff who have begun with us after the start of the term or next term:
Nigel Xavier
Dean Ray
Heman Muthyala
Donnah Cheriuyot
Finally,
our students always enjoy Cultural Diversity week celebrations and this year was no different. All members of the community of College have heard me state many times that "culture is our strength" and when at school we are "one school culture." This was very evident to me over the last two weeks. Cultural dress, performances, activities and food were shared amongst students and staff. The newsletter is packed full of the achievements in learning, sport, and wellbeing of our students this term. Enjoy and more to come in Term 2!
