Year 10 Mask Display in the S Wing

This term, our Year 10 3D Art students brought colour, creativity, and culture to life with a stunning display of handmade masks in the S Wing cubicles. Each mask was a unique expression of the students’ exploration of global mask traditions—from the vibrant Day of the Dead skulls to the ornate mystique of Venetian carnival designs and the spiritual symbolism of Chinese New Year masks.

Students began their journey by researching the cultural significance of masks across different societies. They applied this understanding to create original designs, thoughtfully integrating elements such as colour, balance, and texture. Using plaster, gauze, and mixed media materials, each student crafted a one-of-a-kind mask, accompanied by a personalised display board and artist statement.

Congratulations to all students for their outstanding effort and creative flair. The S Wing has never looked more alive!
