Term Two Holidays

Holidays are a time where you get a break from your normal routine, which can be a good thing and a bad thing! In order to make the most of your two weeks, Art of Smart has some great points for you to remember:

  1. Take a break from your school work. This might include not doing anything school related for a period of time, be it a few days in a row or a few mornings/afternoons. Give your body a chance to recover from a long term and be ready for the next. Sleep, go on a day/short trip away and do things you enjoy, like hobbies and catching up with your friends

  2. Know what school work needs to be done. Make a list of the non-negiotable tasks that need to be completed. This might include finishing overdue items, completing holiday work set by teachers, attending lectures (*see below), catching up on summaries and looking at practice questions or getting a head start on Term Three. Concentrate on study that will make a difference, not just studying for the sake of studying.

  3. Make a fortnightly planner so you can fit everything in - study, work, rest and play. Even a little bit of study each day will add up over two weeks. Think about the structure of your study sessions so they are productive.

Term Four will be another huge term. You will be covering all Unit Four content during this time so you need to mentally prepare yourself for the workload ahead of you. But come the next school holiday, things will look very different, so keep in mind the reasons for why you are here and what you are working towards.
