Secondary Basketball Finalists

Congratulations to the Year 10 Basketball team for finishing the round matches in 4th place on the ladder, earning a place in the 1 v 4 Semi Final against Mackillop, which was played at Mackillop Gym on Wednesday afternoon.

The Year 10s battled hard to the end, but couldn’t take a lead against a strong MacKillop team, who will now advance to the Grand Final against St Aloysius. The team enjoyed lots of laughs and celebrated the great baskets in their final SSATIS basketball game for Mount Carmel.

Secondary Basketball

As the season draws to a close, well done to all the secondary basketball teams.  The Year 7 team concluded their roster last week, finishing with a strong 40 – 16 win against SMC Blue.

The Year 8 team has one game remaining in their roster.  The competition has been challenging at times; however, the team has enjoyed their season and always left the court with a smile. Their determination, competitiveness and belief has grown with every game.

New teams will represent the College in the upcoming High School Basketball Championships in Year 7/8 and Year 9/10 competitions, to be played on 16/17 November.

SATIS Representative Day

On Friday 6 September the inaugural SATIS South v North Representative Day was held for Soccer and Basketball. Due to the relentless rain in Launceston, there was a last-minute change of venue to Scotch Oakburn College.

Representing Mount Carmel in Southern teams included Eva Schulze, Year 10 in Basketball and Addison Broadbent and Ines Gadon, Year 9 in Soccer.  In Girls Basketball, NSATIS defeated SSATIS 78-36, with Eva Schulze a leading goal scorer for the South. Unfortunately, the North also prevailed in the Girls Soccer, defeating South 3-2.
