Commitment is an act, not a word.
Jean-Paul Sartre

Being surrounded by talented, committed individuals who pour their energy into learning and growth can be an incredibly fulfilling experience. It’s a blessing to witness their enthusiasm and see their hard work pay off.

These past few weeks have certainly been evidenced by the above statement as our Primary students have been in the thick of it.  Our Year 2 students presented a thought provoking prayer on Creation to our Validation Panel on Wednesday, which was a beautiful experience for all. We also had some of our Year 6 leaders be part of a forum with the Validation Panel, which was a fabulous experience for them.

On Friday afternoon, students used the Arts Festival as a platform to express their talents in diverse ways, blending different art forms to create a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere.  It allowed all our students from Kinder - Year 6 to step into the spotlight, share their unique voices, and foster a sense of community while celebrating artistic expression.  It was also wonderful to see a contribution to the art exhibition from our ELC students as well.

Thanks must go to all those who were involved in making this afternoon and evening a huge success, especially Mr Dave MacNamara, Ms Dorothy Lincoln, Ms Jess Trost, Mr Damien Lowe and Mrs Natalie Hall.

Then after the Arts Festival, 28 students from Year 5 and 6 arrived at Hobart City High School just before 8:0am on Saturday morning to get themselves ready to present their Tournament of Minds Challenges to the judging panel after 6 weeks of hard work. Again the sense of commitment, enthusiasm and hard work was there for all to see and these girls are to be commended, not only on their brilliant response to the challenges but their commitment and energy.

This is just a snapshot of what three days looked like for our Primary students last week.  This all occurred over a short space of time, however, the days and weeks leading up to showed tremendous dedication and commitment that united action and the enthusiasm fueled the fire to see it through to the end.

A Chat with Constable Anthony Bailey

On Monday all students from Kinder - Year 6 attended a session to listen to and work with Constable Anthony Bailey from Tasmania Police. The session allowed all students to understand the potential risks without creating unnecessary fear. It saw our students be reassured that they can seek help when needed, building a positive relationship between police and our Primary community.

The sessions also provided our students with some clear and safe guidelines as well as empowering them to recognise dangerous situations.  And finally reinforced the message that parents/guardians deliver on a daily basis.

On Friday 27 September all students are encouraged to come in their AFL gear, or any other gear that celebrates sports including umpires and those who attend to cheer on teams. Students are asked to bring a gold coin donation that will go towards the Archbishops Samaritan Fund.
