STRIVE

Heath Whiley

This term in STRIVE, our Year 8 students have been engaged in a variety of spirituality and resilience activities designed to prepare them for the challenges they will encounter during the upcoming Year 8 Camp and Mountain walks in Term 4.

The students participated in a rotation of exciting activities, including a Mountain Walk on historic Mount Wellington, Self-Defence classes, rejuvenating Yoga sessions, and a thoughtful reflection afternoon that featured the Labyrinth and goal-setting exercises. These experiences have not only allowed students to connect with their surroundings but also encouraged them to push their boundaries and step out of their comfort zones.

As they navigated these activities, students learned the importance of a positive mindset when facing challenges. The skills they developed this term will not only benefit them at camp, but also in approaching challenges in their everyday lives.

To conclude the term, we will hold a briefing afternoon to prepare students for the upcoming Year 8 Camp in Term 4. This will include practical sessions where they will practice setting up and putting away tents, ensuring they are ready for the adventure ahead.
