Health and Physical Education 

Foundation and Year 1 

In this fortnight, the Foundation and Year 1 students have continued to develop their gross motor skills through active participation in the PMP program. Students have been focusing on fundamental movement skills such as catching, throwing, kicking, jumping, running, and hopping. The program has provided a fun and engaging environment for students to build confidence, coordination, balance, and body awareness while working alongside their peers. It has been wonderful to see students enthusiastically participate and further develop the foundational skills that support their physical development and future sporting success.

Year 2

In this fortnight, the Year 2 students have been focusing on the concept of teamwork. Students explored what teamwork means and discussed ways they can work together effectively while playing, participating, and encouraging others. Through a variety of fun and engaging team games and activities, students practised cooperation, communication, and supporting their peers, helping them develop important social and collaborative skills.

Years 3, 4 and 5

In this fortnight, students have continued participating in team sports such as soccer and basketball, while also enjoying a variety of games that promote participation, effective communication, cooperation, and good sportsmanship. Students have played activities such as Golden Child Basketball and Run the Gauntlet, working together in teams to develop their teamwork skills, strategic thinking, and ability to support and encourage one another. Through these games, students have demonstrated positive attitudes, respect for others, and an increasing understanding of fair play and collaborative problem-solving.

Year 6

In this fortnight, the Year 6 students have continued to develop their cooperation and teamwork skills through a range of engaging activities and challenges. Students explored the qualities that make an effective team member and gained a deeper understanding of the importance of working collaboratively to achieve shared goals. Through a variety of team-building games and activities, students practised communication, problem-solving, leadership, and supporting their peers, while demonstrating positive sportsmanship and respect for others.
