Visual Art

Foundation
In Visual Arts, Foundation students have been solidifying their understanding of the different techniques used when creating Artworks. First, learning how the element of Distance changes the audience perception, now focusing on the element of overlapping.
The students have been further developing their confidence by mixing a given hand template, as well as tracing around their own hands to produce various contrasting and overlapping shapes, which have been coloured in using a range of colours.
Years 1 and 2
In Visual Arts, Year 1 and 2 students have been building on their understanding of how Value used to create is used to create depth in Art. Students explored this concept by using watercolour paints to paint an Ice-cream cone using only one colour, with each scoop showing a different shade of that colour.
Year 3 and 4
In Visual Arts, Year 3 and 4 students have been embedding and extending their understanding of how Value and Tone can be used to create depth and volume in Art. Students learned about how light and shadows are used in Art and everyday life, as well as how the direction of sunlight or shadow changes in position. Students explored using a combination of 2 Dimensional shapes, and by tracing around them on paper, then further rendering or shading using pastels to produce a 3 Dimensional effect.
Year 5 and 6
In Visual Art, Year 5 and 6 students have started to put their finishing touches on their One Point Perspective landscapes, with different Billboards, buildings and landscapes. Each student has then used coloured Pencils and markers to create a colourful and interesting landscape, focusing on their personal interests and ideas. These are starting to look fantastic!
