Period Pride Competition entry for Save the Dignity
Layla Z in Year 8 has worked tirelessly on designing and creating an art piece for the Share the Dignity Period Pride competition.
Share the Dignity is on a mission to end the shame and stigma that surrounds periods. The Creating Period Pride competition encourages Australia's youth to submit creative, thought-provoking content that aims to remove the shame and stigma associated with having a period.
With the support of Adolescent Health Nurse Roz, Layla was able to utilise her knowledge of period products to create a piece that celebrated the diversity of women from all over the world. Layla is extremely passionate about menstrual health awareness and has passionately been involved in this project. Amazing effort Layla.

Year 7 Friendship Tree
As you make your past the Junior School Office, please check out the Year 7 friendship tree. Now it might be looking small currently but every year the new Year 7 students will be creating more friendship leaves to contribute to the GEC community. Big thank you to Mr Plumridge and his Year 10 visual arts class for making the 3D sculpted tree and Mr Bandara for the amazing idea to enhance connectedness in our community.
