From the Principal

As we come to the close of another school year, I want to thank our students, families, and staff for your contributions and support throughout 2025.

Celebrating Excellence – Awards Ceremony

Last week, we gathered to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students at the annual Awards Ceremony. It was a wonderful occasion to acknowledge academic excellence, leadership, and service of students in Years 7 to 11. I extend a special congratulations to all our award recipients and thank them for exemplifying the values of Lumen Christi College. A list of our awards winners can be found below.

Canberra Tour

A group of Year 9 and 10 students along with staff are currently enjoying themselves on the Canberra tour. This week the group enjoyed a surprise visit from the Governor-General of Australia, Samantha Mostyn, which quickly turned into a highlight of the tour. Staff members travelling with the students shared with us:

"The Governor-General took the time to talk to the students even with a very important meeting with the Iraqi ambassador happening right as we arrived. She also took the time to greet us a second time on the front lawn after the ambassador left. The students are buzzing!"

You can find a video of this special moment on our Instagram page.

We're glad the students and staff are enjoying their trip, and we wish them safe travels home.

Christmas Blessings

As we look ahead to 2026, let us carry with us the words of the late Pope Francis: “Hope opens new horizons, making us capable of dreaming what is not even imaginable.”

This Christmas, as we celebrate the birth of Christ, we are reminded of the message of hope that lies at the heart of our faith. In this Jubilee Year of Hope, let us embrace the promise of renewal and possibility that Christmas brings. May this season be a time of peace, joy, and gratitude.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. Wishing you and your families a blessed and holy Christmas and a joyful New Year.
