During Term 1 students participated in the Diocesan Touch trials, playing a series of round robin competitions. Congratulations to all students who were selected and progressed to the NSWCCC Touch trials which took place in Term 2. Congratulations to Georgie Hayes, Maisy McCrone and Abbey Hunt who were selected to play in the NSW Touch Championships in August.

Opens Girls League Tag

During Week 3 of this term, the Open Girls League Tag team participated in the Riverina Open Day. The girls played against Mt Austin and won 10-4, then they played St Paul's Walla Walla and won 20-0. They then progressed to the Semi final against Hennessy and lost 20-0. The girls had a fun day and worked extremely hard throughout all the games and should be congratulated on their teamwork and support for each other. Congratulations to Georgie Hayes, who was named the player of the day.

CWWHSSA AFL

The CWWHSSA AFL competition has now come to a close. All Mater Dei teams played a fantastic series with teams making finals entries in the Lumsden, Kendall and Carroll Cup. Unfortunately this year the results didn't go our way this time, but all teams should be congratulated on their dedication, teamwork and fighting spirit.

Congratulations to Jack Warden who took out the 2025 Carroll Cup Player of the Series.
