Students were also asked to recall their practical skills and how their skills can transfer to real-world applications:
Year 9 Timber - “Learning different joinery techniques with wood that I could use when making wood furniture for home.” Jack Pope
Year 9 Agriculture - “That not everything will go your way and you will have to problem solve. Another skills is flipping a sheep so you can shear them and check them.” Logan Robbins
Year 9 Timber - “Learning to use a majority of woodwork hand tools and a wood lathe has allowed me to be able to build any projects I like.” Harvey McLachlan
Year 10 Computing - “Problem-solving as we constantly face problems and have to improvise on many different aspects of our projects.” Jeslin Lalu
Year 10 Timber - “Woodwork has taught me so many useful skills this year. One of the biggest things i've learned is how to measure and cut accurately - getting measurements right is super important when making anything, like my side table project. Another really important skill that I've learnt is problem-solving - sometimes things don't fit together the way you planned, so you have to figure out how to adjust the design or fix the mistake.” Lachlan Holgate
Finally, students were asked about their experiences in their elective subject and how the subject has met the students expectations:
Year 10 Timber - “I picked Timber because of I've always liked to build things and it's really been a fun and enjoyable experience that I plan to use my skills in the future. Year 9 and 10 Timber has definitely met my expectations!” Orion Hall
Year 9 Agriculture - “I chose this subject because I live on a farm and I wanted to learn more about farming on a deeper level at school. I have really enjoyed my time in Year 9 Ag.” Ellie McDonnell
Year 9 Agriculture - “Agriculture is what I am interested in because we have a family farm and it's my favourite place to be. I can use many of the skills I have learnt at the Ag Plot on my family farm.” Issy Kendall
Year 9 Timber - “I chose timber because I wanted to learn how to create things with timber, how to measure properly and the different techniques and processes.” Caden Bailey
Year 9 Timber - “I chose this subject because I like doing hands on things. I have found this subject really enjoyable and have loved learning all these new hand skills which will set me up for life.” Spencer Firman
