Friday Morning Masses (Term 1) and More
Welcome back to a new school year! 2026 has been declared the Year of St Francis (of Assisi) by Pope Leo so let us gather often to give thanks and remember those who need our prayer – the poor and powerless, the Earth and the place of peace in our world. There is a lot more to come in the Identity space but for now I extend a very warm welcome to all parents/carers and friends, as well as our boys and young men, to join us at Friday morning Masses at 8:10 AM in the College Chapel. Our first Mass in the Chapel is next week, 13 February. This Friday is Opening School Mass to which everyone is invited. Parents/carers and friends, if you can make it, please join us at 10:00 AM at the Quaycentre, Sydney Olympic Park. Please come along if you can and start the year off in celebration!!
Below is the roster for which cohort will lead our Friday Masses for Term 1. Even if your son is not taking on a role it would be great if you and your son/s could come to your respective Mass, as well as any others! Everyone is welcome at EVERY Mass!! Even if you are not Catholic but would like the experience of community and peace.
This year we will focus on our Touchstone of Gospel Spirituality, responding to Jesus’ call to love and reminding us to provide life-giving relationships for all to benefit.
The EREA Charter for this Touchstone asks us the question – Where and when do I feel God’s presence? We can feel God everywhere at any time, but coming to Friday morning Mass is definitely one way to feel God in our day!

Giving time to our faith and our own peace of mind contributes to balance and harmony in our lives. Let’s not forget it in the big scheme of things.
Also – it’s time to start preparing for Lent which starts with Ash Wednesday on 18 February (Ash Monday on 16 February for our Maronite brothers and sisters, and Clean Monday for Orthodox Christians begins on Monday 23 February). More details to come next week.
Looking forward to seeing you all soon.
