Fresh Beginnings and New Challenges

Firstly, I would like to welcome all students, families, and staff back to St Patrick’s College for 2026. I trust you all had a restful and rewarding break over Christmas and New Year, ready to take this year head on.

It is a privilege for me to join the St Patrick’s community this year as Head of Sport. Having now been in the role for over a week, I have been overwhelmed and grateful for the welcome I have already received from students, staff, and parents/carers. I am excited to step into this position, eager to involve myself in the College and to positively contribute to the rich and proud traditions that is SPC Sport.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Mr Samuel Boggs for his efforts in this position for the last two years.

The ever-moving world of sport began again on Saturday with our summer sports commencing again after the holiday break. I was able to attend some Touch Football fixtures and the First XI Cricket match where I was blown away by not only the talent on show, but the efforts, sportsmanship and teamwork displayed by our students.

A special mention goes to the boys in the 7/8B Touch Football side who filled in to provide additional numbers for the 7/8A Team in very hot and trying conditions to then back up and play in their own fixture.

The First XI Cricket had a wonderful result on Saturday, defeating a highly fancied and undefeated St Pius X, College side by 24 runs.

Additionally, good luck to Hamish Malone, Jack Edwards and Jack Allen who will play in the ISA Representative Cricket team to play the AAGPS side on Sunday.

Congratulations to Hugo Barnes who won two golds and a bronze at the recent NSW Track Cycling Championships held over the summer break. Well done Hugo!
