Advocating On Behalf of Others

Year 12 VCE Vocational Major students are currently undertaking major community projects.

It is great to see many of them relate their projects to a special interest or their future pathway.

Maisie, who is completing Certificate III Early Childhood Education and Care which involves weekly placement in a local early learning centre has learnt firsthand that workers in this industry play such a crucial role in the lives of pre-schoolers. She has chosen to create awareness of this profession, advocating for Victorian early educators to be financially renumerated for their professionalism. Maisie has created posters, a tik tok, and conducted face to face interviews. Well done Maisie!

Michelle's project above was a great success! Many students took the opportunity to post an uplifting message for others to read. The Positivity Board was well located in the library, which is a vibrant hub visited frequently by students from all year levels. We thank the Library staff for housing this 'pop up' Mental Health resource, and send gratitude to the School Counsellor Team for approving Michelle's project and providing resources.

SCOPE's Balloon Football Grand Final

After two years of commitment to this wonderful inclusive sporting competition, our Year 12s spent their last session with participants with the running of the 2026 Grand Final. This was both an exciting and sad occasion, with partnerships concluding. The Demons team who were Minor Premiers at the conclusion of the season, with only one loss, played the mighty Bulldogs! 

🥇This was a hotly contested game with the mighty Demons winning 39 to 18. 

The Best on Ground JAC Award went to Ben Hill for an outstanding effort throughout the game.

The Team Banners were constructed back at school by Year 11 & 12 VCE VM students; Angel, Grace, Alannah, Christian, Alice, Charlie, Louis, Ronan, Dion, Breanna, Giselle, and Anthony. Their meticulous attention to detail in a short time frame resulted in two huge, bright and colourful banners for the teams to burst through, prior to the opening of game siren. The positive mottos on these made players smile and inspired them to play their best.

Our final interaction for the Year 12 VCE VMers with the SCOPE Ballon Footballers takes place with Nazareth hosting the forthcoming Southern Balloon Football Awards Night on Saturday 17 October.
