100km for mental health
by Ms Kylie Pearson, School Librarian
An inspirational person is often identified by their actions and their character. They usually have a strong commitment to goals and set challenges that inspire and motivate others, and our 2026 School Captain, Rohan M-R, has all this in spades!
Rohan will be marking his 18th birthday in February by running 100km continuously, with the goal of raising funds and awareness for youth mental health with the support of headspace: https://headspace.org.au/headspace-centres/box-hill/
While this event is being organised by Rohan outside of school, BHHS wanted to get on board and support Rohan's wonderful message. As a result, we will be running a competition where every student, from every Home group, will make a guess as to how many steps it will take Rohan to reach his 100km goal. The library team will collate these results and post them on the library wall ready to announce the winners early in 2026.
We hope that by running our competition and putting a spotlight on Rohan’s incredible goal, students will also discuss the importance of youth mental health and being a supportive friend for those around them.
This is an inspirational way to mark an 18th birthday, and we wish Rohan the best of luck with his training in the lead up to this event.
