Garden

Bunnings Wheelers Hill generously donated a wheelbarrow, organic compost, and watering cans for our SAKG. When the weather improves, we will be using all of these to help our garden.

Mushrooms

5/6s have grown, harvested and eaten Oyster mushrooms. Fungi is fascinating to observe growing and the different shapes it forms. There are many varieties, and we discussed the different flavours and where they grow.  The ones we have grown came in a kit and even though we have harvested them, they will keep on growing in our garden.

In the Kitchen

We have been busy in the kitchen over the past few weeks. We've enjoyed more winter recipes, such as delicious pumpkin and chicken and corn soup, pasta, zucchini slice, vegetable torte, bread rolls and party food for our 50th birthday celebration last week. We are enjoying an encore menu, voting for our favourite dishes to feast on again.

Don't forget the recipes are uploaded onto our SAKG Google Classroom for you to download.

A massive thank you to all our faithful volunteers (Jen, Megumi, Ros, Sarah) who come each week to assist our students. We are very grateful!
