Principal's Update

It has been a huge term with lots of exciting events! I hope everyone enjoys some family time and our students have a relaxing break after a long term and come back refreshed and well ready for a busy Term 3 - with the School Production of "What A Knight" being a highlight!
Update to Policies:
We have been working on updating our School Policies with staff and School Council involved.:
Child safety and Wellbeing Policy
Child safety and wellbeing at WMPS: information for families and the school community.
WMPS is committed to providing an environment where students are safe and feel safe.
Our child safety framework includes policies, codes and procedures that explain how we support and maintain the safety and wellbeing of our students and protect them from harm. These documents are available on our website.
We are also committed to continuous improvement of our child safety framework. We are currently reviewing our child safety policies and practices to ensure they are up-to-date and effective.
Our students and families are important partners in this process. We welcome your feedback or ideas on ways we can improve our approach to child safety and wellbeing.
If you have any suggestions or comments, please contact me on 9561 2879 or at waverley.meadow.ps@education.vic.gov.au
You may also notice, we have added some age-appropriate imaging around the school, encouraging our students to always come to me, or one of their trusted adults here at WMPS if they ever have any issues.
Work is commencing in the holidays on our toilet blocks for the senior students.
Our garden project - "Green Space = Happy Place" is our 2025 fundraising project. The area outside the canteen will look much better following the landscaping works outside the canteen. We are very excited about both of these projects.
Take care and see you in Term 3,
Meredith
