Br Gerry Faulkner Award

Young Writers and Illustrators

Over the past week, we have launched our annual Br Gerry Faulkner Award for Young Writers and Illustrators. Students across the College, from Years 4 to 12, are invited to submit a piece of creative work.

The award encompasses three main categories: writing (short story or a chapter of a novel), rhyming (poetry or verse), and illustrating (graphic novel or picture book). It encourages students to build on the skills they have developed in class and to create an original piece that reflects their imagination and passion for creative expression.

Boys are welcome to work independently or collaborate with a partner or small group on their submission, allowing them to share ideas and develop their work together.

Students may wish to continue developing their entries over the holiday break and can submit their completed pieces to the library upon their return. Entries are due by Friday, 31 July, and winners will be announced in Term 3 at a special morning tea, to which all participants will be invited.
