On Friday 19 June, the College hosted the Senior School Music Night, marking the final of the three major music concerts for Term 2. The evening highlighted the hard work and collaboration of students from both Trinity College and Mercedes College, with the standard of performances reflecting the dedicated preparation.
The night began with a traditional performance by the Pipes and Drums Band, followed by the polished performances from the TM Wind Orchestra and TM String Orchestra, showcasing technical skill and musical expression. The TM Classical Guitar Ensemble was most engaging, while the TM Symphonic Brass had audience appeal.
Swing Band I showed their full toned brass line up and popping rhythm section. The Vocal Ensemble’s sacred music set was very polished, while the Senior Chorale performed pieces that highlighted the expressive qualities of a male voice choir. The highly dramatic performances, ‘Ashes’ by Joseph Twist and ‘Unclouded Day’ sung by the TM Combined Chorale, created a stirring finale to a grand night of music making.
A huge congratulations to all students involved and to the staff across both schools for their dedication and support. The Senior School Music Night was a fitting finale to a term full of musical celebration and sets a high bar as we head into Term 3 – our “Festival Term” of performances.

Last Sunday, on 21 of June, we held our Violin and Viola Afternoon Recital with two sessions, giving our students a valuable opportunity to perform in front of an audience as preparation for the upcoming Performing Arts Festival.
The recital was designed to help build confidence, develop stage experience, and prepare students for festival performance. It was a wonderful and useful experience for all involved, allowing each student to share their hard work and musical progress in a supportive environment.
A big thank you to everyone who helped make this event happen, and especially to all the parents for their ongoing support and encouragement. Your involvement plays such an important role in the students’ musical journey. A special thank you to all the staff that attend and to Mrs Khartinova for making this concert happen.
We are very proud of all our performers and look forward to doing it again next year!
In Term 3, the College will host numerous Spirit of the Arts events - for which we will also request volunteer support.
