A celebration of our creativity

 Visual Arts at Holy Spirit

As we embark on a new school year, I am thrilled to step into the role of the art teacher and continue the journey of artistic exploration and discovery with our students. I am incredibly grateful to follow in the footsteps of Beth and build upon the foundation of creativity she has instilled in this community.

The first thing students noticed when walking into the art room last week were our new tables, which have completely transformed the space. We were lucky enough to be donated the high tables and chairs from a school that has closed down. We were also kindly given their kiln, which we are very excited about using later on in the year.

We kicked off the year by creating a whole school collaborative artwork, inspired by the book "The Dot" by Peter H. Reynolds, where each student contributed their own unique dot, using analogous colours. When students walk into the art room each week, they will see their dot amongst the rainbow and be reminded that everyone is an artist.
