The Cross Country team represented the school at the Balaclava District and Beachside Division. It was a great day where the students' athleticism, determination and sportsmanship were on full display.
We made the walk to Elsternwick Park, and the students were buzzing with excitement and a healthy dose of nervous energy as they prepared to compete and represent EPS. They took part in six running races, either 2km or 3km, depending on their age group.
Every runner gave their best effort throughout the day, showing incredible resilience and pushing themselves to the point of exhaustion. The sportsmanship and camaraderie among the group was to be admired, especially as students celebrated each other's performances and checked in on friends who were feeling a little worse for wear.
Overall, it was a very successful day, with Elsternwick taking out the John Landy Trophy for 1st place! A special mention goes to some standout individual performances, Lotti, Zac and Conner, who all won their respective races.
Thank you to the parent volunteers who helped the day run smoothly and to all those who came down to support the students.
