Prep Buddies

After a relaxing holiday break, the buddies were eager to catch up again and reconnect. In our first buddies session for Term 2, Prep and Year 4 students met to engage in a Marvellous Monster Mania! session. This began with a shared reflection on our Zones of Regulation and thoughtful discussion on how we can use colours to help us understand and regulate our emotions. Next, we read The Colour Monster by Anna Llena and discussed how the monster was feeling when he was different colours. This was followed by creating our own monster demonstrating a colour and feeling of their own. To conclude the session, we enjoyed some time outside to chat about our creations and eat our lunch together.

It has been great to hear positive feedback from the students about how much they’re enjoying the Buddies Program and watching as new friendships flourish.
