Marist Netball
CCS has finished third at the 2025 Marist Netball Carnival, after a comprehensive win against Assumption College Kilmore (25-9) in the 3rd/4th place play-off game. The team were brilliant across the three days of competition, winning 12 of their 16 games. Our rivals Lavalla Catholic College proving too strong in our Championship Semi Final clash, winning 27-14. Lavalla went on to win the Grand Final against reigning champions, and co-hosts of the Carnival, Sacred Heart College by the smallest margin (15-14).
At the completion of the Carnival, CCS had two players named in the Marist All-Australian team. We congratulate Chloe Felsbourg (CCS Captain) and Chloe Rees on this wonderful achievement. They have proven to be strong leaders and performers on court, and even stronger leaders off it. Mahli Stothers and Chloe Felsbourg were also named as CCS’ Players of the Day for Day 1 and 2 respectively.
It was a wonderfully run Carnival by Sacred Heart and Cardijn Colleges. CCS are already planning our campaign for next year, where we will travel to Bendigo/Kilmore to try and win the shield back from Lavalla. A big thank you to Kirralee Carstairs and Jo Gieschen in their role as Coach and Assistant Coach in the lead up to and during the Carnival. The team were in tremendous hands throughout their 2025 journey.

School Sports Victoria - Team Vic Selection
Congratulations to the following CCS students who have been selected in School Sport Victoria’s ‘Team Vic’ state selection programs.
Taylah Mizzi - 15 & Under Girls AFL
Taylah has been a prominent figure in CCS Football teams as an attacking, pacey and effective midfielder. She has a terrific kick and leads with her actions on-field.
Xavier Gray - Victorian Swimming Team
Xavier’s results in the pool have been nothing short of brilliant this year, both for CCS and his club meets. At this year’s CCS Junior Swimming Carnival, Xavier broke records in all of the 50m Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Butterfly events.
We wish Taylah and Xavier all the best in their state representation.
