VCE VM

Our students have been enthusiastically participating in a range of diverse and enriching activities that reflect their commitment to learning, leadership, and community engagement.

Market Day a Huge Success

This term’s Market Task gave students the opportunity to showcase their entrepreneurial skills through a vibrant and successful event. With a strong focus on sustainability and creativity, students set up stalls selling a wide array of items, including delicious food, handmade goods, and repurposed or pre-loved treasures. From baked treats and homemade sauce to crafted gems and recycled items, the Market buzzed with activity and innovation. Not only did this task develop students’ understanding of business and financial literacy, but it also highlighted their ability to work collaboratively and think outside the box. A big thank you to Mrs. Jacinta Slattery and Mrs. Kirralee Carstairs for their work in guiding the students.

Volunteering at Maffra Stretton Park

In a beautiful example of intergenerational connection, our Year 12 VCE VM students have been volunteering their time at Maffra Stretton Park, assisting elderly residents with a variety of activities. Whether it was engaging in conversation, helping with maintenance tasks, or simply providing companionship, students brought joy and warmth to the aged care setting. The experience fostered empathy, patience, and a strong sense of community responsibility among our young people. This volunteering will continue into next term.

Exploring Futures at the Wellington Shire Careers Expo

Students recently attended the Wellington Shire Careers Expo, gaining valuable insights into a wide range of vocational and higher education pathways. With representatives from TAFEs, local businesses, and the defence and emergency services sectors, students had the chance to ask questions, gather resources, and begin thinking seriously about their post-school futures. The excursion proved both inspiring and informative, helping students take practical steps toward their career goals.

Year 11s Challenge Stereotypes with Tomorrow Man / Tomorrow Woman

Our Year 11 students took part in a powerful session delivered by Tomorrow Man and Tomorrow Woman, an organisation dedicated to challenging gender norms and fostering emotional intelligence in young people. The sessions encouraged students to reflect on how gender perceptions shape their identities and relationships, and provided them with tools to build authentic, respectful connections. It was a moving and thought-provoking experience that resonated deeply with students and staff alike.

Through initiatives like these, our students continue to grow as learners, leaders, and compassionate members of the wider community. We are proud of their efforts and excited to see how these experiences shape their journeys ahead.
