Celebrating Our Journey
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we move through Term 2, we take a moment to reflect on the many wonderful events, achievements, and moments of connection that have shaped our College over the past month. These highlights remind us of the strength of our community and the spirit that defines us as a Marist school.
This week, Catholic College Sale joined Marist communities around the world in celebrating the Feast of Saint Marcellin Champagnat — a moment of deep significance in our College calendar. Canonised in 1999, Saint Marcellin was recognised as a saint of the Catholic Church for his unwavering dedication, visionary leadership, and enduring inspiration to generations of Marists.
At Catholic College Sale, we are proud to continue the legacy of Saint Marcellin. His life and mission remain at the heart of our identity, shaping the way we teach, learn, and care for one another. Champagnat Week is more than a celebration — it is a reaffirmation of who we are and what we stand for as a Marist community.
Saint Marcellin’s values — simplicity, presence, love of work, family spirit, and being in the way of Mary — are not just ideals we remember during this week; they are values we strive to live every day. They guide our relationships, our service, and our commitment to ensuring that every student feels known, loved, and supported.
This week invites us to pause and reflect on how we embody the Marist spirit in our daily lives. Whether through acts of kindness, moments of prayer, or simply being present to one another, we each contribute to keeping the Marist flame alive in our community.
As we celebrate Champagnat Week, let us be inspired by the example of Saint Marcellin and by the countless students and staff who have walked this path before us. Together, let’s continue to build a community grounded in faith, compassion, and a shared mission to serve.
At Catholic College Sale, we are committed to providing a learning environment that supports the growth, wellbeing, and aspirations of every student. As part of this commitment, our College Master Plan continues to guide the development and enhancement of our facilities to meet the evolving needs of our community.
We are pleased to share the latest updates on our Master Plan:
Learning Spaces for the Future
Planning is well underway for the next stage of our learning environment upgrades. The Stage 2 refurbishment of the St Patrick's building will start mid-2026, with new learning spaces designed to support contemporary learning and teaching, and a focus on flexibility, collaboration, and student engagement. The new facilities will reflect our Marist values and provide welcoming, inclusive spaces for all.
Outdoor and Recreational Areas
We are also reviewing our outdoor spaces to ensure they promote student wellbeing, physical activity, and social connection. Enhancements to recreational areas, resulting from the relocation of the current maintenance shed off-site, will provide more opportunities for students to gather, play, and relax in a safe and vibrant environment. This will take place towards the end of 2025.
Our College community was treated to an unforgettable performance of We Will Rock You, brought to life by the incredible talent and dedication of our students. I had the absolute pleasure of attending the show, and I was deeply impressed by the professionalism, energy, and enthusiasm displayed by every student involved.
The way our students conducted themselves both on and off the stage was truly outstanding. Their commitment to excellence and their support for one another reflected the very best of our College values.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to the many staff, students, and parents who contributed behind the scenes to make this production such a success. Events like this not only showcase our vibrant performing arts program but also help foster a strong, inclusive, and joyful school community.
A special acknowledgement must go to Jake Watson and Ann Roffe for their exceptional leadership, vision, and dedication in bringing this production to life. Congratulations to everyone who played a part in this spectacular event, you truly rocked us!
Catholic College Sale proudly represented our community at the recent Marist National Netball Carnival, showcasing not only athletic excellence but also the spirit of teamwork, sportsmanship, and Marist values.
Our team delivered an exceptional performance throughout the Carnival, finishing third overall, an incredible achievement that reflects the hard work, dedication, and unity of our players and coaching staff.
A huge thank you goes to our outstanding coaches, Kirralee Carstairs and Jo Gieschen, whose leadership and encouragement were instrumental in guiding the team to success. We also extend our gratitude to Jamie Murphy, who managed the team with great care and professionalism, ensuring everything ran smoothly throughout the event.
We also want to congratulate students, Chloe Felsbourg and Chloe Rees, who were named in the Marist All-Australian Team, which is an amazing achievement.
Events like the Marist Netball Carnival not only provide opportunities for high-level competition but also strengthen the bonds between Marist schools nationwide. Our students represented Catholic College Sale with pride, passion, and integrity; true ambassadors of our College.
Kind regards
